Unit 2 Lesson 6 Old Testament
The Lord is My Shepherd
Theme: Comfort
Biblical Basis Psalm 23:1-6
In Psalm 23, King David wrote a song where he remembered what it was like when he was a boy taking care of sheep. David said that human beings are like sheep, and that God is the shepherd who takes care of us and watches over us.
Additional Text: John 10:11-18, 27-30
Lesson Prayer
Shepherding God, you are the source of all comfort and life. We thank you for never leaving us and always guiding us in your right paths. Your mercy is too wonderful for us who tend to wander away and get lost or run into danger. Remind us always of the joy you grant in your holy presence and the comfort you give us each day. In Jesus’ holy name we pray. Amen.
Memory Verse
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. (Psalm 23:1-3)
