From Heaven Above

Sunday School Christmas Program

Written by the Rev. Steven E. King

"From Heaven Above" is a Sunday School Christmas program featuring familiar Songs and Scripture, based on the carol "From Heaven Above" by Martin Luther.

This traditional program can easily be performed in the chancel on a Sunday morning or as an evening event leading up to Christmas. It allows for children to lead in music and recitation, but also features participation by the gathered congregation and adult leaders. No special staging is needed; the program is intentionally simple and “generic”—allowing for modifications and additions according to local custom.
